We’re looking for an experienced RVN who enjoys clinical nursing and is ready to step into a role with real challenge, real responsibility, real influence and real autonomy.

This is a hands-on Practice RVN role, combined with overall Clinical Lead and HR Lead responsibility, within a small, independent GP practice.

We’re a small, genuinely fun team working out of a beautifully renovated Grade II listed building in Minsterley.

Everyone contributes, and ideas are genuinely listened to and often acted on.

Our client base is modest by design, which means you have the time and headspace to nurse properly, communicate well, and make considered decisions.

Alongside core RVN duties, this role places a strong emphasis on overall leadership and would suit someone interested in:

Supporting and strengthening clinical standards across both the veterinary and nursing teams
Supporting accountability in a fair, consistent and respectful way, helping the team follow through on agreed standards and decisions
Maintaining and improving clinical consistency and quality assurance
Reviewing, refining and embedding protocols and workflows
Contributing to clinical governance, case review and reflective discussion
Overall responsibility for in-house HR processes and procedures, including recruitment, onboarding, people processes and policy implementation, with support from the Practice Director and external HR support (HCR Law)
Working closely with the Practice Director on strategic and operational decisions

This is not a predefined management role.
It’s an opportunity to co-create a senior Clinical and HR leadership position, with genuine autonomy and trust.

An RVN who:

Is experienced, clinically confident and steady
Enjoys ownership, responsibility and leadership across the clinical and wider team
Is organised, focused and reliable
Is comfortable contributing to leadership beyond the nursing team
Is comfortable supporting accountability and follow-through, while remaining kind and approachable
Works well within a small, close-knit multidisciplinary team
Is interested in clinical governance, leadership and HR alongside nursing
Likes improving systems as well as delivering excellent care
Is happy to support occasional reception tasks (orders, cashing up, phones)

£16.50–£19.50 per hour, depending on previous leadership/management experience
Clear salary banding if the role becomes permanent with room for progression
£1,000 annual CPD allowance
Joint Vet Dynamics membership with the Practice Director
6.6 weeks annual leave (pro rata)
Paid day off on your birthday
Flexibility wherever reasonably possible
TOIL if you miss lunch (this genuinely doesn’t happen very often)
1.5× TOIL if you stay late

This role begins as maternity cover, but if business growth allows, we would actively want to build a permanent leadership role around the right person, particularly someone motivated by improving overall clinical performance and supporting people well.
